WHAT IS SKYCOM?
Skycom is an aerospace company located in Austin, Texas.
Our unmanned High-Altitude, Lighter-Than-Air Platforms (HALTAPs) create low-cost real estate in the sky. With modular payload capabilities, HALTAPs can perform a variety of functions, including Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), communications, remote sensing, and scientific research.
In April 2023, Skycom was awarded an AFWERX-sponsored Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 1 contract. We have partnered with U.S. Air Force to learn how our HALTAPs can be used to modernize the Department of Defense and better protect us from emerging threats. We also welcome the opportunity to speak with any other federal entities interested in integrating HALTAPs into their operations.
OUR TECHNOLOGY
Skycom's unmanned High-Altitude, Lighter-Than-Air Platforms (HALTAPs) are robust, field-deployable, small-scale airships designed to operate at altitudes greater than 60,000 feet.
The patented technology at the core of our HALTAP design revolutionizes the lighter-than-air industry and will allow us to achieve what other technologies can't: the first affordable, long endurance, geostationary platforms in the stratosphere.
MILITARY APPLICATIONS
Skycom is actively working with the U.S. Air Force to understand how HALTAPs can best serve the modern warfighter and protect the country and its allies across the globe. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and enhanced communications capabilities are just two of the possibilities.
